Saving the environment, what does that have to do with me? How can one single woman save the environment? Well the answer is, quite simply, I can't. Not by myself. But that is no reason why I shouldn't try. I agree with the quote from Reverened Meg Reily I read today:
I believe that we are the people who can, literally, save the planet. No superheroes, no magic solutions, no miracle chants. Just us, all of us, touching each others’ lives in ways mysterious and organized,Every little thing we do to save the environment is a step in the right direction. So what are some of the things I do:
- I recycle.
- I walk or ride my bike almost everywhere
- When I can't I take the bus or train
- I don't own a car. This isn't just about the environment, it is also a financial decision, but I COULD afford a car, I would have to cut down on other things, but I could. I also know that if I owned a car I wouldn't walk or ride my bike as much as I do. So...
- I turn off lights.
- I try and buy fuit and veg in season.
- I try to support local farmers.
